Federations and clubs Performance Analysis Italy · online

For those who make others shoot.

You have archers to develop and coaches to train. I work with clubs, associations and federations, from a single technical report to a full coaching education programme.

What I can do for you

From a single report to educating your coaching staff.

Video analysis

Your archers, read through data

Biomechanical analysis of the shot, for an individual athlete or the whole group. What is working, what is not, why, and where it makes sense to start. Not a gut feeling: data and imagery, delivered in a form your coach can use straight away.

Education

For coaches and instructors

Since 2019 I have taught biomechanics and motor learning within the federation circuit, as a FIARC faculty member. Workshops and programmes for those who coach, because a correction only holds when you understand the physical reasons behind it.

Reports

Technical and functional analysis

In-depth reports on individual athletes, especially for the cases that are not improving: the problem, an interpretation, a concrete action plan. Further down you will find a real, complete example.

Assessment

Screening days

Group assessment, physical and functional screening, injury prevention. An objective picture of the group to build on, rather than impressions.

Method

Support and periodisation

I help structure the season and the monitoring process: what to measure, when, and how to read it. A method that stays with the organisation afterwards, not a one-off consultation.

Outreach

Bringing research to the field

Talks and content that translate scientific literature into things that are actually useful on the range, not academic abstractions. For archers or coaches, in person or online.

The method

The score tells you what happened. Almost never why.

For years I looked for that "why" by feel, and I never found it. Then I stopped guessing and started measuring. That is what I bring to your archers: data instead of opinions, always alongside your coaches, never in their place. The full manifesto →

Federation education

FIARC faculty member since 2019

I collaborate with the federation circuit as a faculty member and teaching associate, bringing biomechanics and motor learning into coach education.

Research

Author, book in peer review

I have written a book on athletic preparation for archery, currently under scientific review, and I hold a clinical kinesiology degree (master's with distinction).

A concrete example

Here is what one of my reports looks like.

A real case, anonymised and complete: a pre-anchor block analysed in depth, from the assessment to a twelve-week return plan. This is the level at which I read an athlete.

How I work

A method that loops back on itself.

PHASE 01

Observe and measure

I start from data: video, physical and functional assessment, target reading. No on-the-fly diagnosis; first I understand what is actually happening.

PHASE 02

Interpret

I bring together body, movement and shot behaviour to reach the cause, not just the visible error. This is the part that makes the difference.

PHASE 03

Intervene

We work on one variable at a time, with clear priorities and specific exercises. We change what the data asks us to change, not what "has always been done this way".

PHASE 04

Verify

We compare against the starting point and measure the change. Then the cycle begins again, one loop at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Questions I get asked most often.

Do you work online only, or also in person?

The main work is online: calls, video exchange via cloud, support by email and messages. Working online gives scheduling flexibility and allows me to support archers across Italy. For specific situations, on-site days, and workshops, I am happy to discuss in-person arrangements.

Do you work with compound archers or only recurve?

Both. Much of what we measure is universal: posture, stability, HRV, periodisation. The specifics of the release and equipment change, and the work adapts accordingly.

Do you replace our federation coach?

No, and I would never want to. I work alongside your coach, not in their place. They follow the athlete on the range; I add a different layer of analysis: data, biomechanical reading, periodisation, and the integration of gym work and shooting.

I am a beginner. Is working with you useful?

Honestly: in the first 6 to 12 months you need a federation coach on the range, in person, correcting you in real time. Once your fundamentals are solid and you feel the need to go deeper, that is when I can be genuinely useful. For now, the best contribution I can offer you is the blog: all my articles, free.

What are your credentials?

Bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Bologna. Master's degree in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity Sciences at the University of Urbino, with distinction, specialising in functional rehabilitation. FIARC faculty member and teaching associate since 2019. You can find the full background on the about page.

How do I get in touch?

Write to me at [email protected]: tell me who you are, where you are based, and what you are looking for. I reply personally, usually within 24 hours.

Think we could work together?

Drop me a line.

Tell me who you are, whether you are an archer, a coach, a club, an association or a federation, and what you are looking for. I will be honest about whether and how I can help.
