Claim page revised, version 2

No study has asked the question: the data are the ages and years of practice written into the sample descriptions of studies on other topics, and they should be read as such. Two figures from South Korea support the claim: the world number 2 in 2007 was 21 years old with 12 years of practice, so he had started at nine, and the 65 high-level Korean archers described in 2025 averaged 18 years of age and eight of career. The university women described in 2018, at the national team trials, and in 2024, at the national championship, were about 21 with at least ten years of shooting, but those ten years were a condition for entering the sample, so they do not say how many women at that level had started later; and a 2014 study of women with a similar career does not say at what level they competed. The contrary figure comes from China: the eight international masters on the squad preparing for Tokyo 2020 were 19.6 years old with 4.9 years of practice, so on average they had started at around fifteen, but the study appeared in a questionable venue and, by rule, does not decide the status. There is also a deeper limit: at the 2018 trials both the top ten and those placed between twentieth and thirtieth had the ten years, so an early start did not separate the best from the rest, and the starting age seems to depend on the country more than on the level: Indian state-level adolescents had started at around eleven or twelve, young archers at an Istanbul club at around fourteen, like the Chinese Olympic squad. Nobody has counted how many children started early and never reached the top.
