Claim page revised, version 2

There is a single validation study, carefully done. A chronometer mounted on the bow, which starts when the clicker drops and stops when the arrow tip passes a sensor on the handle, was compared with forearm electromyography in twenty archers from the Turkish national team and its candidates, twelve arrows each. The two times go together, with a correlation of 0.787, but they do not coincide: the chronometer gives a mean of 177 milliseconds and the electromyography 146, because the former also includes the start of the fingers opening and the centimetre and a half the tip travels to the sensor. On the field, at 70 metres, the measurement repeats almost exactly a week later, 180 and 179 milliseconds, with an intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.985. What can be measured well in the field, then, is an interval that closely follows the reaction to the clicker, not the reaction itself; and the evidence comes from a single laboratory, on elite archers, with a prototype whose 150 gram sensor on the handle might itself change the shot.
